Where does it come from?

Turmeric is a flowering plant of the ginger family. This plant is native to South Asia and Southeast Asia.

What is it used for?

Turmeric has been used in Asia for centuries and is a major part of Ayurveda, Siddha medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and many other cultures. It was used as a dye, and then later for its supposed properties in folk medicine.

Its benefits:

Turmeric contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory, this can contribute to a natural glow. This magical root can help heal wounds, help with psoriasis, acne scarring… it has even been linked to scabies treatment, eczema, alopecia and other skin issues.

Be cautious of...

Turmeric can leave an orange/yellow stain on your skin, this is completely normal. Like all plant you may be allergic to it, so don’t forget to patch your skin first before using it on your face. Furthermore, if you are allergic to the spice when you eat it, do not use it on your skin.
