Spearmint, also known as garden mint is one of many mint species. This herb is native to Europe and south temperate Asia. But to be honest, this herb can be found in any temperate part of the world. So you could find it in Ireland and even Africa.

What is it used for?

Spearmint has many uses, it can be used as a flavoring in food and herbal teas, but it is also transformed into an oil used as a flavoring and a scent. Spearmint oil has been used traditionally as a medicine for minor ailment such as fevers and digestive disorders. It is also used as a natural insecticide and pesticide. In the medical research it has been shown to help as an antitumor and has been shown to be a great antibacterial.
